Los Angeles schools will pay $88 million for sex abuse settlement

The Los Angeles Unified School District has agreed to pay $88 million to settle two sexual abuse cases. The settlement will mean the families of 30 children abused at two different elementary schools will receive about $3 million apiece.
The LA Times reported teachers Paul Chapel III and Robert Pimental have been imprisoned over the sexual abuse charges.
The settlement comes less than two years after the school district’s largest payout in another sexual abuse case.
