LA minimum wage grows to $12 per hour

The minimum wage in Los Angeles was raised Saturday from $10.50 to $12 per hour. The latest increase is the second major hike since Mayor Eric Garcetti signed a measure that will gradually increase minimum wage to $15 by 2020. The increase affects companies with more than 26 employees and smaller businesses will be affected in January. Garcetti, who is responsible for the wage increase, was sworn in for a second term on Saturday.
